The Xstrahl team are committed to providing detailed training on all aspects of our Xstrahl Medical systems.

Clinical Training

  • Overview of all system components (generator, cooler, treatment machines, treatment console)
  • Demonstration of the operation of the machine including all tube stand and tube head operations
  • Instruction on the integrated filters and correct selection of the required Half Value Layer
  • Instruction on the treatment applicators, including the correct fitting and removal from the treatment head, correct storage and cleaning protocols
  • Comprehensive training on the clinical use of the Xstrahl system including all procedures for:
    • Power ON and daily quality assurance
    • Clinical mode, treatment delivery and patient management
    • Safety interlocks and emergency stop
    • Power down
  • Overview of all safety features

Physics/Service Module

  • Comprehensive overview of Physics functionality including:
    • System configuration including filters and applicators
    • Calibration procedures
    • System log data
    • Engineering function

Patient Management System

  • Clinical training includes:
    • Power ON and daily quality assurance
    • Creating patient data
    • Delivering clinical exposures
    • Recalling patients and past treatments
    • System housekeeping
    • Power down

Record and Verify System:

  • Power ON
  • Creating users and password authority
  • Creating patient data and prescribed treatment courses
  • Verification of patient and treatment field data
  • Treatment delivery and treatment interruptions
  • Incomplete treatment scenarios
  • Data management and back-up
  • Power down procedures
  • Producing patient, treatment and system summaries and reports

Once users have been shown the correct operation of the equipment, they are supported through several clinical based scenarios which allows them to use the equipment as required in a clinical situation whilst still in the training environment with the support of the Applications Specialist.
